Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she enriched with her compassion and unconditional love.

Suzanne R. Hartman, of Oreland Pa, passed away peacefully after a 13 month battle with pancreatic cancer, on Monday August 3, 2026. Born on March 2, 1947, Sue was the unconditionally devoted wife of Thomas J. Hartman, Sr.. Although Sue lost the love of her life at the age of 51, she never remarried. Instead, she spent the next 28 years honoring the love they shared by dedicating herself completely to raising her family. Her enduring devotion stands as a remarkable example of love, loyalty, and commitment. She is survived by her 5 children, Tom Hartman (Julie), Maryanne Mangini (Mark), Bob Hartman (Missy), Kathleen Milligan (Michael) and Suzanne Christopher (Jeff). She welcomed 18 grandchildren into the fold and loved to spoil them all. She was blessed to have many extended family members and faithful friends who all provided a strong and loving support system throughout her healthcare journey.

Sue was the heart of our family, truly the glue that held everyone together. Sue’s strength, faith, and perseverance never wavered. She always found a way to put her family first. She faced her illness with extraordinary courage, grace and dignity. Even during her battle she found happiness in the moments that mattered most. She was fortunate to spend a treasured last week in Sea Isle City, New Jersey surrounded by her children, grandchildren, family and friends, making it to the beach twice! These were moments she thoroughly enjoyed and created more memories for those who shared them with her.

Sue was the daughter of Catherine V and Leo F. Rattigan. She grew up in Drexel Hill, with her brothers, Lee and Jim and her sister Cathi. She met Tom while working at GE. Although not impressed at first, Sue gave Tom a shot, and the rest is beautiful history. The two of them worked tirelessly to provide their five kids with a great life. They made many sacrifices to ensure that each of their children received 12 years of Catholic education and had an opportunity to attend college. They achieved those goals.

Sue worked different jobs throughout her life living in Oreland Pa as a member of Holy Martyrs parish. From OTC Review, Iannuzi Paving, to Keegan Mortgage and PoPo & Co, Sue always went above and beyond her job description. .

Later in life, Sue was honored as a "Legend of McDevitt” by the Proud Bishop McDevitt Alumni Association. As she put it, she “finally won something”! Sue was awarded this for the selfless behind-the-scenes work that, without, her husband Tom would have never been able to coach there.

Sue will be remembered as a selfless woman whose kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was always smiling! She was an extraordinary mother, devoted wife, a proud grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she enriched with her compassion and unconditional love.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide us. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Family and Friends are invited to her viewings Friday from 6-8PM and Saturday from 9:30-10:30AM at Holy Martyrs Church, 120 Allison Rd Oreland, PA 19075.  Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30AM.  Burial will follow the mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
