Peter M. Schmid of Ardsley passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family, on October 30,2026, after a long battle with bladder cancer. Peter is survived by his wife Edith, children Peter A., and Samantha (Matthew), grandchildren Cameryn James, Penelope, and Scarlett, his pups Storm and Snoopy, and grand-pup Wilbur. Born in Bucks County, Peter graduated from Nashamity High School and DelVal College. Peter completed his Tool & Die Apprenticeship at Jade Corporation. He fell in love with his beautiful wife and moved to Ardsley where he settled and built his family. Peter was a loving family man. He is known as Peter, Pete, Cotter Pin, Chubby Old Groundhog, Bank O’Dada, Captain Skillet, Husband, Father, and his favorite Opa.
As a young man, he volunteered at Feasterville Fire Company where he held many roles including President, and he was a paramedic for Penn Dell Middletown. He was an avid lover of assisting many. Along with volunteering at the fire department, he was a cub master, and participated in many other activities with The Boy Scouts of America and their counterparts in Canada under The Olympia Scope Program. Peter was also a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge. As Peter got older, he switched from supporting and helping others to bolstering his children and grandchildren in all their dreams and aspirations. This gave him immense joy.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 11AM at Carmel Presbyterian Church 100 Edge Hill Rd Glenside, PA 19038. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 9:30-11AM at the church. Interment will be private.
