Paula A. Tuite

Paula A. Tuite (nee McCarthy), beloved wife of the late William E. Tuite, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026. She was the daughter of Richard McCarthy and Ann Stadelman McCarthy. Paula was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia and Elizabeth and her brother Dr. Richard E. McCarthy.

She is survived by her loving children, William (Heidi Schmidt), Catherine Tuite Rosenberg (Eric), and Marilyn Cotton (Tom). She was a devoted grandmother to Justin Rosenberg (Kristen), Evan Rosenberg (Meaghan), Aidan Cotton, Andrew Rosenberg, Claire Cotton and Kevin Cotton. Paula was a loving great grandmother to Samuel Rosenberg.

Paula grew up in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston, Ma. She was a graduate of Girls’ Latin School , Class of 1954 and Boston College, Class of 1958 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education. She was a teacher for several years in the Farmingdale, NY School District.

She married Bill on November 21, 1964. They raised their family in Merrick, NY before retiring to Southold, NY and Sailfish Point on Hutchinson Island, FL.

Paula was a volunteer for many organizations and schools over the years, both on Long Island and in Florida. She particularly loved raising guide dog puppies for the blind with the Smithtown Guide Dog Foundation in Smithtown, NY. Paula was a talented artist and loved working in miniatures. She enjoyed several trips to Castine, Maine at The Guild School with the International Guild of Miniature Artisans.

Her mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Genevieve Church in Flourtown, PA.  Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation from 9:00 - 10:00am  at the church.  Burial will be private.
