Patricia M. Distel, "Trish", of Conshohocken, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Born on April 12, 1959 in Philadelphia, Trish's kind spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her, leaving an unforgettable imprint on her family, friends, and community.
She was a proud graduate of St. Genevieve’s ('73), Bishop McDevitt ('77), and Temple University ('81) where she forged incredible lifelong friendships that she cherished deeply. Trish enjoyed a long career at Young & McGilvery law firm, where she worked as the Office Manager for over 30 years.
Known for her kind and welcoming nature, Trish was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and was always ready for a good time and a good laugh. Trish found immense happiness in simple pleasures: celebrating her Irish roots and "Conshy pride", vacationing on the beaches of Sea Isle, and above all, being the best “Nanny” anyone could wish for. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren—Grace, Erin, and Johnny—who meant the world to her and filled her days with love and laughter.
Trish was preceded in death by her loving parents, Elizabeth McKay McNamara and Francis J. McNamara, as well as Doug Distel. She is survived by her devoted children, Bridget O’Malley (John) and Douglas M. Distel; her beloved siblings, Francis J. McNamara, Jr. (Denise), Marybeth Bryan (Charlie, deceased), and Karen Reo (Bob); and an adoring circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on March 28, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Genevieve Church, located at 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031. The visitation will be followed by a Mass at 10:00a.m. Interment will be private at a later date.
