Michael D. Murray

Michael D. Murray,  passed away peacefully at home in Naples, FL, on August 22, 2026.  

He was born in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia on September 28, 1943 to the late John F. and Julia (McEntee) Murray.  He was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School Class of 1961.  He went on to proudly serve in the US Navy from 1961-1965.  After his time in the service, Mike earned his Bachelor's Degree in History from Niagara University in 1969.  

Mike was high school teacher for 30 years at Strawberry Mansion High School in Philadelphia and later retired to Naples, Florida.   

Mike is survived by his sister Judy (Ken) Williams, his brothers Frank (Carole), Dennis (Trish) and Charles (Renee).  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parent's he was predeceased by his brothers John, Phil, Joseph and Ken.   

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday August 28, 2026 from 9-10AM at St. Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031, followed immediately by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
