Marianne Lyons, a remarkable woman whose gentle spirit and warm heart touched all who knew her, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Royersford, PA. Born on December 26, 1938, in Philadelphia, she was the beloved oldest daughter of Vincent and Gertrude Lyons, among ten siblings.
From a young age, Marianne showed an unwavering sense of responsibility after losing her father, stepping up to help her mother raise her brothers and sisters with love and dedication. This nurturing spirit defined her life; she was someone who made everyone feel valued, always going out of her way to remember special occasions like birthdays. Her unique laugh and delightful sense of humor brought joy to countless gatherings, leaving cherished memories in the hearts of her family and friends.
Marianne is survived by her loving brothers: Michael (Elaine), Vincent (Pat), and Patrick (Kim); her sisters: Cathleen, Gertrude, and Margie (Mike Dent); and her son, Eddie DuFresne. She leaves behind a legacy rich in love, gratitude, and kindness that will continue to inspire those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Gertrude Lyons, as well as her brothers Joseph, Thomas and Martin, her brother-in-law Nick Pico, her sisters-in-law Marijean and Pat Lyons, her nephews Michael and James Lyons, and Colin Dent. The depth of her absence is felt by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will miss her profoundly.
Marianne Lyons will be remembered not only for her compassion and familial devotion but also for the indelible mark she left on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared, the gratitude she inspired, and the kindness she demonstrated throughout her life.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at John F. Murray Funeral Home, 1220 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
