Marguerite Catherine Charles, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on December 3, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marguerite spent many years living in Montgomery County, where she built a loving home devoted to family.
A devoted mother, Marguerite poured her heart into raising her three daughters: Megan Lupo (Brian Lupo), Erin Charles (Mark Jordan), and Gabriela Charles (Michael Trimble). Her greatest joy came from being "Grammy" and helping to raise her nine grandchildren - Emily, Callie, and Nicholas (children of Megan and Brian); Kieran and Fiona (children of Erin and Mark); and Charlotte, Connor, Kinley, and Molly (children of Gabriela and Michael). They were truly the light of her life. Family was always at the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent reading stories, playing games, and creating special memories, especially during cherished family vacations to the shore.
Marguerite had a special fondness for her family's dogs and was well known for sneaking them treats from the kitchen table. She deeply valued time spent with her siblings - Mary, Thomas, Joseph, Patricia, and Bernadette - and their children, delighting in family gatherings filled with love, laughter, and togetherness.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found comfort, peace, and guidance through studying the Bible. Marguerite's nurturing spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering kindness touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the strong sense of family she so beautifully cultivated.
Marguerite leaves behind her devoted spouse of 51 years, James Charles, who shared in her joy and her deep love for family.
She was preceded in death by Thomas Watt, Marguerite Watt, and Mary Finucane.
Marguerite's life will be celebrated by family and friends at a gathering honoring her remarkable spirit and the countless cherished memories she leaves behind on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Phil's Tavern in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, selflessness, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, consider donations to the Laurel House, 190 W Germantown Pike #200, East Norriton Township, PA 19401.
