Kathyrn A. Witaconis, (nee Dickson), beloved wife of the late Wiliam J. Witaconis, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Dickson and Catherine Prendergast Dickson. Kathryn was preceded in death by her dear sisters Jeanne Van Osten (Joe) and Helen Muir (Ed). She is survived by her loving daughters, Eileen Greenlay (Peter), Wendy Koons (Chris), and Laurie Shawaluk (Paul). She was a devoted Grandy to Cassidy, Hailey, and Max Koons and Kyle and Liam Shawaluk. She was a loving Aunt and Great Aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was an adored sister-in-law and cherished friend.
Kathy grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School Class of 1961. She later attended Montgomery County Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Business. She worked in the business offices for The Bell Telephone Company of PA, Vicks Manufacturing, Springhouse Corporation and New Seasons Assisted Living Communities.
Kathy has been a loyal lifelong friend to many especially her high school sorority. Kathy met her husband Bill while working at Vicks Manufacturing. They married on September 30, 1967. They raised their family in the Oreland community and lived there for over 55 years establishing lasting friendships. Kathy was active with coaching Holy Martyrs School Volleyball and Softball and Special Olympics Basketball as well as leading Girl Scout troops. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with family and friends at the Jersey Shore, watching her grandkids play sports, traveling to Maine, attending family reunions and going on weekend trips.
Her mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday April 27, 2026 at 11AM at Holy Martyrs Church in Oreland PA. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation from 9:30-11AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services at www.dixoncenter.org or charity of your choice.
