Kathleen Mary (O'Donnell) Campbell passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 26, 2025. Born on September 2, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kathleen was the cherished daughter of Anne (McConnell) and Joseph John O'Donnell. Though she lost her father at a young age, her mother Anne filled their home with love, laughter, and music, raising Kathleen and her four siblings in a joyful household.Kathleen attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School, Cardinal Dougherty High School, and Drexel University. She began her professional life as a stockbroker at Butcher & Singer in Philadelphia. In 1965, through her brother Joe, she met W. Patrick Campbell, and they married in the summer of 1969. Together, they built a life that took them from Philadelphia to Stamford, Connecticut; Columbia, Missouri; Bel Air, California; Chicago, Illinois; and East Hampton, New York. Kathleen was Pat’s steadfast partner, always forging new friendships and building community wherever they went. Their marriage was a true partnership that spanned 52 years.Kathleen was known for her generosity and her love of gathering friends and family. She delighted in connecting people and was happiest when surrounded by a lively crowd. Her laugh—vibrant, joyful, and unmistakably full of life—was one of her most memorable traits. Kathleen’s warmth made everyone feel seen and valued. Her home was a welcoming place, filled with conversation, music (especially show tunes!), and laughter. She had a gift for finding beauty in everyday moments and passed that appreciation on to her family.Kathleen loved to travel with her family and visited more than thirty countries during her lifetime. Whether jet boating in New Zealand, navigating mogul fields in Zermatt, white water rafting in California, gliding off a mountain in Colorado, or racing down a waterslide in Sea Island, Kathleen was always game for an exciting family adventure! At home, she cherished quiet moments on her front porch, reading the paper, tending to her flowers and enjoying the sea breeze and birdsong.Above all, Kathleen treasured her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend—always welcoming, deeply compassionate, and genuinely interested in the stories of others. In her final years at Waterstone in Stamford, she quickly became the heart of the community and a sought-after dinner companion.Kathleen will be remembered for her boundless generosity, sharp wit, and gentle spirit. Her legacy lives on in the love, gratitude, and lessons she leaves with her family.She was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Joseph O'Donnell; her son, W. Patrick Campbell III; her brother, John O'Donnell; and her beloved husband, W. Patrick Campbell. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Megan & Graham Officer and Kristin & Hunter Doble; sisters Joanne O'Donnell and Maureen (O'Donnell) Garvey; her brother Joe O’Donnell (Susie) and sisters-in-law, Barbara O’Donnell, Maureen Campbell; brothers-in-law Michael (Andrea) and Joe (Noreen) Campbell; and her five adored grandchildren: Campbell Officer, Katharine Doble, Emily Doble, Colin Officer, and Graham Doble. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.A Mass celebrating Kathleen’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17th, at St. Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031. A memorial reception will follow at the Flourtown Country Club, 150 McCloskey Rd, Flourtown, PA 19031.
