Joseph E. Coyle

Joseph E. Coyle of Flourtown, PA passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018.  He was the beloved husband of Ann C. (nee Fisher).  Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 4, 1936 to the late A. Leo Coyle and Anna E. Colwell (nee Nolan).  He was raised in Mayfair in St. Matthew’s Parish and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School.  He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.  He was a graduate of LaSalle College Evening Division.  Joe and Ann married on November 24, 1962 and they were blessed with 56 years of wedded bliss.  They raised their family in Northeast Philadelphia in Resurrection Parish.  Joe worked in the insurance industry, retiring as a Regional Vice President of the Group Life Insurance Division of Philadelphia Life Insurance Company.  He also enjoyed bartending at the Devon Horse Show for 35 years.  He was a proud Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.  Joe loved musicals, old movies, crossword puzzles, vacations in Sea Isle City, NJ, and most of all spending time with family and friends.  He was the beloved father of Joanne Anderson, Joseph Jr. (Lisa), Michael (Jennifer), Mary Posluszny (Paul), and the late Danny.  He was also the proud grandfather of Kevin, Anita, Anna, Lauren, Colin, Grace, Jessica and Danny.  He was predeceased by his sister MaryAnn Colwell (Thomas) and his brother A. Leo (Jeanne) and is survived by many nieces and nephews.   Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday December 29, 2018 at 1:30 PM at St. Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike Flourtown, PA 19031.  Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 11:30-1:30 at the church.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, 1341 Montgomery Ave., Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.
