James Charles Williams Jr. passed away on July 30th, 2026. He entered this world on January 27th, 1952, in Norristown, PA, to James C. Williams Sr. and Katharine M. Williams (McCann), and was raised in Conshohocken, PA. He attended St. Matthew's Church and grade school and Archbishop Kennedy High School, graduating in 1969. After high school, he went on to receive an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Montgomery County Community College. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army and served in Berlin, Germany as a military policeman. When his military service concluded, he was hired by the Springfield Township Police Department, where he served for 27 years, retiring as their detective in charge. For the next 15 years, he was employed as a court crier for the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. 

He enjoyed the outdoors, spending most of his "free time" hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He could always be seen working around his homes in Oreland, PA, and Cape May, NJ. If the garage door was open, anyone who passed by was always invited in for a cold drink or to share a story. He was always willing to help out friends, family, and acquaintances with anything at any time. He coached Springfield girls softball for 8 years and helped out with boys baseball. He traveled extensively through most of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, as well as many European countries and the Caribbean. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and numerous aunts and uncles. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna (Wosiak), and his children, Stacey Gutekunst (Scot) and Mark Williams (Tracey); 3 grandchildren, Grace Bell, Chase Williams, and Camryn Williams; and 1 step-grandchild, Luna Gutekunst.  Also surviving are his sisters Kathleen Longo and Janine Bergey (Bob), his brothers John Williams (Mary) and Joseph Williams (Jen), and many nieces and nephews. 

There will be a celebration of Jim's life on Monday, August 10th at Flourtown Country Club 150 McCloskey Rd Flourtown PA from 4 pm to 8 pm.  Family remembrances and military honors will be held at 6PM.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
