James M. Foley

James M. Foley, 85, of Philadelphia died Monday, April 29th peacefully in his sleep at St. Joseph's Villa in Flourtown.

Jimmy, as he was known to his friends, was born in East Falls on January 11th, 1939 to Charles and Mary Foley. He was the oldest of three children; Marigrace, his sister from Florida, and Michael Foley, deceased from Flourtown.

Jim was married to Sarah (Tyrrell) Foley for 60 years. He was the father to Mark(Rebecca), Susan(Chip), and James Jr.(Stephanie). Jim was the proudest grandfather to Sarah and Christopher Rocco, Conor and Emmet Foley, and Ryan and Jack Foley.

Jim attended LaSalle College High School and graduated in 1958. He went on to graduate from Villanova University with a degree in engineering.

After many years as the Vice President of a commercial roofing company, Jim went on to pursue one of his true passions, Development and fundraising. He had a long career serving in executive roles for organizations such as Holy Redeemer Hospital, The Copernicus Center, and special education school Melmark in Berwyn. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, sailing, coaching his kids sports teams, gardening, and reading.

Services will be held Monday, May 20th at St. Joseph's Villa.  A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30am, followed by mass at 10:30am.  Interment will be private.
