Irene C. Pronzato, 100, of Warrington, PA (formerly of Flourtown) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Neshaminy Manor where she had resided for the past two years.

Irene was born in Hazelton, PA on January 30, 1926 to the late Michael and Anna (Medvic) Chabalko. She was preceded in death by her siblings John, Helen Kane, Margaret Welshko and George.

Irene was the loving wife for 68 years of William J. Pronzato who passed in 2017. Irene is survived by her three children: Francine Stefany of Lancaster, PA, William J. Pronzato, Jr. (Carol) of Warrington, PA and Maribeth Lyle (Trevor) of Hatfield, PA. She was the loving and devoted grandmother to Laura, Marisa, Michael and Phillip and great-grandmother to Hannah, Cole, Evie and Braylen.

Irene graduated from Hazelton High School and received a BSN Degree in Nursing from Temple University. She served in the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II and worked at Temple University Hospital in the Med/Surg Unit.  After raising her children, she later used her nursing skills to care for aging and retired Sisters at Saint Joseph Villa.

A lifelong Catholic, Irene had a strong faith and enjoyed attending Mass.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Neshaminy Manor for the care provided to Irene and to Caring Hospice for their support.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at St. Genevieve’s Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown. Interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be at a later date at the convenience of family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Irene’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
