Howard Frank Lee, Jr., 88, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on March 25, 2023 at St. Mark’s Church 1040 Chestnut Tree Rd Honey Brook, PA with The Reverend Kim Guiser officiating. The family will receive visitors starting at 10:00 am at the church.
Howard was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 3, 1935. He was the son of the late Howard F., Sr and Marie (McCormick) Lee. Howard was the loving husband of Kathryn (Watson) Lee with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. He graduated from Lansdowne High School in 1952. Howard along with his partner founded L&L Specialty Lines a high risk insurance agency in Newtown Square, PA. Howard was a member of the United States Army Reserve and was stationed at Fort Gordon, GA. Howard actively participated in youth sports and was the President of the Lansdowne Boys Club. Additionally, he coached and refereed sports for his children for many years, serving as director of the Youth Basketball Association in West Chester, PA.
Howard was a friend to all and was quick to share a joke or a quip. Throughout his lifetime Howard spent much of his time reading nonfiction, especially US History. Howard’s happy place would find him on the beach at his home in Brigantine, NJ where he enjoyed “sale-ing” and sharing a laugh with family and friends. The biggest part of his life and his greatest joy was spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Jennifer Moyer (Brian), Douglas, Brian (Patricia), Christopher (Kimberly). Affectionately known to his seven grandchildren as Grumps: Taylor and Brandon Moyer, Abigail, Patrick and Mikaela Lee, Nathan and Carter Lee.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Shrum.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Howard’s memory may be made to The Tel Hai Care Assurance Fund, a benevolent fund for residents or a charity of your choice.
