Beatrice Leone

Beatrice Leone (nee Loscalzo), 102, of Masonic Village, formerly of Flourtown, passed away on December 22, 2022. Wife of 65 years to the late Dominic "Mickey" Leone. Mother of Dominic "Mickey" Jr. of Mt. Airy, Susan McGlade (John), of Oreland and Beatrice Craig (Jim) of VA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Tina McCormick and her son William. Born on August 14, 1920 In Philadelphia, PA and was raised along with her three sisters in Germantown, PA. As a young woman, she owned and operated her own beauty salon and in 1951 she married Mickey also from Germantown. They eventually moved to Flourtown, PA where they raised their 5 children. Bea volunteered at the Saint Joseph Villa, as a Girl Scout Leader, and as a Religious Education Teacher at Saint Genevieve Catholic Church. Bea worked for several Springfield Township schools, most notably her years at Springfield High School as a nurse’s aide. After her retirement from the school system, she worked for National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Ambler, PA, well into her 80s. Celebration of her life will be on Wednesday December 28th with a Visitation from 9-10AM with a Mass to follow at 10AM at St. Genevieve Church 1225 Bethlehem Pike Flourtown, PA 19031. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in her memory to NAMI or Cancer Research Foundation.
