Alexander R. Russell

d. April 25, 2020

In memoriam of Alexander Robertson Russell. Age 83, of Flourtown, PA, passed away on Saturday April 25, 2020. Alexander (Lex) is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lynn, his 3 sons Rob, Steve and Garry, and predeceased by his only daughter Sherrilynn. He is also survived by his 3 cherished grandchildren, Julia, Alexander and Lindsay. He is also survived by his sisters Connie and Donna. Lex graduated from Germantown High School in 1954 and went straight into the United States Coast Guard for four years. In addition to serving his country, Lex started a successful roofing business in his home town in 1958 and was roofing well into his 80's. Throughout the years, he loved to go fishing and hunting with his sons, boating, bird watching, was an animal lover and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He umpired the Flourtown Little League while his sons played in the game. Lex loved the outdoors and remained very active. He could sometimes be found walking 3 miles a day. Some of his favorite times were spent on Long Beach Island, NJ at his sister's oceanfront vacation home. He was cared for and loved by many and will be greatly missed. Due to the current health crisis, Lex's Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made safely online to his devoted wife Lynn, here: https://www.gatheringus.com/memorial/alexander-r-russell/3363.
