Brother David E. Carney

CARNEY BROTHER DAVID EUGENE, 83, on July 14, 2013, of Wheeling, West Virginia formerly of Flourtown. Son of the late Helen (nee Shaw) and Thomas. Brother of Thomas J., Edward M., Helen Clemens, and the late Gertrude Brown and Sr. Anne Carney S.S.J. formerly Sr. Helen Genevieve. Br. David was a 1948 graduate of Springfield Township H.S. (Mont.), a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (4yrs.) during which time played on the golf team and was a scratch golfer. David attended South Carolina Univer-sity on scholarship for football and basketball. He was a member of the Trappists (8yrs) and the Camaldolese Hermits (53 yrs). A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday Aug. 20, 2013 at 10 A.M. at St Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flour-town, PA 1903. Interment Holy Sepuchre Cemetery.
